- Shoot outdoors in open shade or facing a bright window, with the light falling on your dog's face.
- Avoid strong backlight, which turns a dark coat into a silhouette.
- To get those ears up, make a quick squeak or say a favorite word just as you take the photo.
- Kneel so the camera is at chest or eye level. Shooting from above shrinks the head and hides the chest.

Do you do sable, black or white German Shepherds?
